Buzz of cabinet expansion as Revanth meets governor | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The speculation around cabinet expansion was rife on Ugadi, with chief minister A Revanth Reddy meeting governor Jihsnu Dev Varama at Raj Bhavan on Sunday. Along with the chief minister, his advisor V Narender Reddy, MP Anil Kumar Yadav and Konda Surekha also met the governor.
While Raj Bhavan sources said it may have been a courtesy call, speculation in the Congress party was that the CM might have discussed cabinet expansion plans.
The cabinet expansion has been on hold for nearly 15 months. It is being speculated that the state leadership and the high command have agreed to proceed with the expansion, and it may happen on the April 3. Recently, state leaders met with party officials in Delhi to discuss this cabinet expansion.
Currently, there are six vacant ministerial positions.
At present, the districts of Nizamabad, Adilabad, Rangareddy, and Hyderabad lack representation in the cabinet, which opens up the possibility for these areas to be included. There is strong speculation that Chennur MLA Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy, who is from the SC community, is likely to secure a ministerial position.
Additionally, it is believed that the Reddy community may receive two ministerial roles this time, with Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Bodhan MLA Prodduturi Sudarshan Reddy both in contention. Makthal MLA Vakiti Srihari is also expected to be in the race.
