Buxar DM Calls for Urgent Action on Voter Registration for Youth and Women | Patna News – Times of India

Buxar: Buxar district magistrate Anshul Aggarwal held a review meeting of the special brief revision programme 2025 with all electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers on the Collectorate premises on Monday.
During the review, he said there had been very little progress in registering 18 to 19-year-olds and women voters, compared to the set target, which he deemed “quite regrettable”. The DM asked all assistant electoral registration officers to take greater interest and ensure the addition of voters according to the target within a week. He also served show-cause notices to the BDOs of Rajpur, Brahmpur, Navanagar and Kesath blocks due to their lack of progress in meeting the targets.
The AEROs of Buxar Municipal Council and Dumraon Municipal Council were asked to run as many awareness programmes as possible in educational institutions in the urban areas, such as coaching institutes and colleges, to register new and future voters in the 18 to 19 age group, ensuring their names are added to the voter list.
