Bungalows & offices allotted to Mahayuti mins; some get flats | Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: Two days after allocation of portfolios in the Mahayuti govt, the state govt on Monday allotted offices and bungalows to its ministers. Bungalows were also allotted to assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar (Shivgiri) and council chairperson Ram Shinde (Dnyaneshwari).
Among ministers, revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule of BJP got the Ramtek bungalow, which was earlier with Shiv Sena’s Deepak Kesarkar. Some ministers also got flats in state govt buildings as there are not enough bungalows to accommodate all ministers. Some ministers are said to have expressed unhappiness over being allotted flats.
While most ministers got offices in Mantralaya, some were given offices in Mantralaya’s annex building. Some ministers of state were even given offices in Vidhan Bhavan as a temporary measure due to lack of space in Mantralaya’s main building and the annex building. There are 42 ministers in the Mahayuti govt, including the CM and two DCMs. Thirty-three are cabinet ministers while six are ministers of state.
Among those who got flats are Manikrao Kokate, who got a flat in Amber building, Narhari Jirwal who got one in Suruchi building, Sanjay Savkare (Amber), Sanjay Shirsat (Amber), Pratap Sarnaik (Arvato), Bharat Gogavale (Suruchi) and Makarand Patil (Suruchi). Amber is located in Malabar Hill and Suruchi in Churchgate. Most of the bungalows are located in Malabar Hill, while some are located across Mantralaya at Nariman Point.
