Bulldozers a hit at Yogi rally in Odisha; BJP CM promises UP-like action against mafia | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, known as ‘bulldozer baba’, received a unique welcome at his election rally in Kendrapada Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday. Several bulldozers were lined up at the venue — Kuliha — grabbing the attention of thousands of supporters.
Yogi, who campaigned for BJP MP candidate from Kendrapada, Baijayant Panda, is known for his tough stance against the mafia and rioters in Uttar Pradesh.
“UP-like bulldozer crackdown will be carried out against land, sand, mining, timber and cattle mafia in Odisha if BJP forms the govt in the state. Bulldozer action eliminated mafia raj in UP,” said Yogi.
The display of the heavy machinery at the rally site in Kendrapada served as a symbolic representation, matching Yogi’s tough approach towards criminals.
The crowd was visibly excited by the presence of the bulldozers. “The UP chief minister’s reputation for running bulldozers on the properties of anti-socials have made him popular not just in his state, but also across the country,” said Tarunkanti Pradhan, a resident of Kuliha.
It must be noted that the commissionerate police recently started bulldozing illegal establishments, including homes and shops of drug smugglers in Bhubaneswar.
