Bull dies after eating explosive inside fruit | Bhubaneswar News

Puri: A bull died after its face was destroyed due to an explosive placed inside a fruit at Kathuali under Brahmagiri police limits Thursday. But before that it suffered for hours. Surabhi, a local social organization, filed a complaint at Brahmagiri police station after learning about the incident.
“It has come to our notice that certain individuals have been hunting animals using explosives for the past few days. They have been killing bulls and pigs in this manner. On Thursday, a bull died after eating a fruit that had an explosive hidden inside. This inhumane practice poses a severe threat to wildlife, domestic animals, and even humans,” Surabhi said in a written complaint submitted to Brahmagiri police.
The team reached the spot to save the bull, but by then, it had already died. They then conducted its last rites with proper rituals. Brahmagiri MLA Upasana Mohapatra expressed deep concern over the incident, calling it “terrible”. Superintendent of police (Puri) Vinit Agrawal said, “I have discussed the matter with the Brahmagiri IIC. Action will be taken against the culprits.” The incident has sparked outrage among locals and animal rights activists, demanding swift action against those involved in this cruel practice.
