Mumbai: One person died and another was injured when the slab of the first floor of a building in Mahim west collapsed on Wednesday evening.
Civic disaster department officials said that it was a vacant building. One person who was injured before the arrival of the fire brigade and was rushed to Hinduja hospital. During the removal of debris from the site, one of the workers of the private contractor got trapped under the slab.The trapped worker was removed by firemen and rushed to the civic run Sion hospital.
The injured was identified as Chandrika Yadav, 32, while the identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
