Bhubaneswar: Dispute over a property between a builder and his former business associate turned fatal with the latter allegedly beating the realtor to death at Pradhansahi under Airfield police station limits here on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Sasmit Biswal (47), a resident of Bhimpur area here. His body was found near the disputed land in Pradhansahi in the evening.
Biswal’s brother, Debadutta Mohanty, lodged a police complaint alleging that Tulu Mohanty, a former business partner, along with his goons assaulted Biswal with sticks, leading to his death.
“We have identified a total of seven suspects. Three of them have been detained for interrogation. All those involved in the murder will be arrested,” DCP Jagmohan Meena said.
The DCP added, “Prima facie, a land dispute persisted between the deceased and his previous business partner. A heated argument broke out between them, leading to the alleged murder.”
