Complete projects on time, min tells BUIDCO officials

Patna: Urban development and housing department (UDHD) minister Nitin Nabin on Friday reviewed the ongoing works being carried out in north and south Bihar by the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO). He asked officials not to compromise on the quality and complete all projects within the set deadline.
“From now on, two separate meetings of the BUIDCO will be held every month to review the ongoing works in both parts of the state.Monthly targets will be set in the meetings and progress reportwill have to be presented in a time-bound manner,” said Nabin.
Issues relating to water drainage and road repair among others were taken up for discussion at Friday’s meeting. The minister said actions would be taken on the measures and suggestions received for betterment of the works. He directed the officials concerned to conduct physical inspection of the projects. “We need to work like a team and make the best efforts for development of the state,” he emphasized.
About the issues being faced in installation of street lights in the districts, the minister said a committee has been set up to look into the problem. “The committee will work for resolution of the problems at the civic body level.”
“It will also study the street lighting strategies of other states and give its suggestions regarding the same. The committee is also required to submit a report to the department on various matters under its fold within a week,” said Nabin.
UDHD principal secretary Anand Kishor and BUIDCO managing director, Yogesh Sagar, were also present at the review meeting.
