BTech Students: BTech students’ bodies handed over to families | Bhubaneswar News
Rourkela: The bodies of two third-year BTech students, who were pursuing summer internship programme at NIT, Rourkela, and had drowned in the Brahmani river on Saturday, were handed over to their family members after the postmortem. Raghunathpalli police are investigating the case.
Six engineering students, including two girls from other institutes, had come to NITR for their summer internship from May to July and were staying in the NITR hostel.On Saturday, they went to the Brahmani river to take bath when the six started drowning in the river. Locals present there rescued the six. The students were shifted to Rourkela government hospital where two of them were declared brought dead. The deceased were identified as Rajat Sahu of Jaleswar in Balasore and Samiran Sukumar Nayak of Raghunathpur, Patia.
After getting information, NITR authorities reached RGH and informed the family members of the deceased. “The bodies of both students were handed over to their family members after postmortem,” said Rohan Dhiman, the registrar of NITR. TNN
