BSY summoned in Pocso case on March 15 | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru: A special court for Pocso Act cases Friday said former chief minister BS Yediyurappa and three other accused have to be present in court on March 15.
The summonses were issued after the special court took fresh cognisance of a chargesheet filed by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sleuths against Yediyurappa and others in the Pocso case registered with Sadashivanagar police station in March 2024.
Yediyurappa had approached the high court, seeking quashing of the case. Directing police not to arrest him, the high court referred the case back to the special court, citing lack of reasoning in its July 4, 2024 order on taking cognisance of the chargesheet.
The case was registered based on a complaint from the mother of a 17-year-old girl. The complainant alleged Yediyurappa molested her daughter during a meeting in Feb 2024 at his residence in Dollars Colony. The complainant died in a private hospital last year.
On Friday, the court hearing the case passed a detailed order citing reasons for taking cognisance of the case and also issued fresh summons for Yediyurappa and three other accused.
