BSF foils infiltration attempt in Gujarat, Pakistani intruder neutralised | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday night shot dead a Pakistani intruder who was attempting to cross into Indian territory in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district. According to a BSF statement, troops spotted a suspicious individual approaching the border fence after crossing the International Border. When challenged, the intruder ignored warnings and continued advancing, prompting the troops to open fire.He was neutralised on the spot.The incident comes amid heightened security along the border following Pakistan’s constant crossborder misadventure after India’s counterterror action.The Indian armed forces had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting and destroying nine major terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. It came as a retaliatory action by Indian armed forces after Pakistan sponsored terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, that claimed 26 lives.These included the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur and a key Lashkar-e-Taiba base in Muridke, both located in mainland Pakistan.
