BPSC Prelims Exam Scheduled for December 13, No Extension Despite Server Issues | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will not extend the date for the 70th combined (preliminary) competitive examination, as demanded by many of the candidates alleging that the server was not working properly during the last four days of filing of the application forms.
As per the BPSC, the prelims will be held as per schedule on December 13 in single sitting from 12 noon to 2.00 pm across various centres in different districts of the state.
Refuting the allegations of applicants, the BPSC on Sunday claimed that out of the total 4.80 lakh applications received for the said exam, the process of filing of over 1.30 lakh forms along with payments were done during the last four days of the closing date. “This amply proves that complaints of candidates regarding server being down or not working properly during the last four days of the closing time is totally baseless,” said BPSC examination controller, Satyaprakash Sharma.
He also said that, in the interest of the examinees, the last date for filling of forms was already extended from October 18 to November 4. “After publication of the advertisement of the exam on September 23, the period between September 28 and October 18 was fixed for filling of online applications. Thereafter, the last date for submitting the online forms was extended till November 4 in applicants’ interest,” said the BPSC.
The examination controller further said the date for the BPSC 70th combined prelims exam was finalised keeping in mind the dates of various other exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and other state PSCs as well as considering the already announced dates of tests conducted by other bodies.
“Hence in the interest of 4.80 lakh applicants, the said exam will be held on December 13 and the examinees are advised to appear for the exam at the respective centres as marked in their e-admit cards,” said the official.
Notably, the protesting students’ another major demand was re-opening of the form filling link as they claimed that around 90,000 applicants were deprived from filling the form due to fault in the server of the BPSC during the last four days of the closing date.
