Patna: Clearing the air surrounding rumours of postponement of the Integrated 70th Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination, Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai on Monday said that the exam would be held on the designated date of December 13, time and centres across various districts.
On the issue of multi-set question papers that led to a misunderstanding among candidates about adoption of “normalization” method, the chairman said that the BPSC had been printing multi-set (four) question papers since June to avoid malpractices in the exams. “But exam will be held only with one set, which is decided by a lottery system and the district administration concerned will be informed about the same just three hours before the commencement of the test,” clarified Manubhai, implying all the examinees across the state would get the same questions, only their numberings would be different.
He added the BPSC informed the cyber cell of police to identify the people who intentionally spread fake news about the extension of dates, for their own vested interests, leading to inconvenience of the examinees. “The BPSC never intended to change the dates and any news circulating on social media platforms informing otherwise is false and baseless. We have informed the cyber cell for initiating tough actions against such people engaged in misinformation campaign,” said Manubhai, while addressing a press conference here.
Urging the examinees not to trust any social media news, he said that the office was receiving reports about many applicants even getting their train tickets cancelled. He advised the candidates to only believe in the authentic information posted on the commission’s website.
