Bombay HC quashes FIR against retired police officer in parking dispute | Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Monday quashed an FIR filed against a retired deputy commissioner of police, Madhukar Sankhe, in connection with an alleged incident of misbehaviour during a parking-related dispute at a Dadar (East) building. The court ruled that the matter was purely personal and was amicably resolved between the parties.A division bench comprising Justices Sarang V Kotwal and S M Modak was hearing a petition seeking to quash the FIR registered at Matunga Police Station last year for intentional insult with an intent to provoke a breach of peace. The complaint was filed by an air hostess working for a private airline and a resident of Dadar, alleging that during a dispute over a hoarding obstructing her parking space in August 2024, Sankhe misbehaved with her and used derogatory language. However, during the hearing, the complainant informed the court through an affidavit that the dispute arose in the heat of the moment and due to a misunderstanding. She stated that there was no longer any grievance against the accused persons, and she did not wish to pursue the case further. The court noted that both parties were now residing in the same society and that the continuation of the proceedings would serve no purpose.
