Bomb threat on flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai turns out to be hoax | Mumbai News – Times of India



MUMBAI: After a comprehensive three-hour search and inspection of the Vistara flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai, airport authorities concluded that the bomb threat received on Friday was a false alarm, said the police.
The flight touched down at 3.15 pm following the discovery of a note by a crew member stating ‘bomb on board’. “The process of registering a first information report (FIR) against an unknown person is underway.The flight has been searched by the bomb disposal squad and other agencies. But did not find anything suspicious. We are gathering information to track the person who left the note,” said a police officer of the Sahar police station.
Upon landing at the Mumbai International Airport at 3.15 pm, the airline notified the police. “The passengers were informed about the threat after landing and a search of passengers and their luggage were carried out. But nothing suspicious was found,” the police officer stated.
According to an airline spokesperson, Vistara flight UK 552 staff noticed a “security concern”. “As per protocol, we immediately alerted the relevant authorities, and the aircraft was taken to the isolation bay after safely landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai where all customers have been disembarked,” the statement added.
