Kendrapada: Body of a 52-year-old man was recovered from a pond in Birosoti village under Kendrapada Sadar police station limits on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Kanhu Charan Nath, a local.
Family members of the victim, including his son, Makara, have alleged foul play, claiming that Nath was murdered and his body later dumped in the pond. “My father went to attend a feast with some of his friends on Tuesday evening. We suspect he was killed by his friends and later, they dumped the body in the pond,” alleged Makara.
“Upon being informed, police went to the spot and recovered the body, and sent it for postmortem to determine the exact cause of death,” said IIC of Kendrapada Sadar police station, Bimal Mallick.
