Patna: The body of a 24-year-old man was recovered at Chulhari village under Asthawan police station in Nalanda district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Suman Giri, son of Rajesh Kumar Giri, a rural medical practitioner. Asthawan station house officer (SHO), Shashi Kumar said, Suman had been missing from the village since late Wednesday evening.
Rajesh has been operating a clinic in his village for the last 10 years. Suman had gone to the adjoining Mahanandpur village on Wednesday to bring some medicines, but he did not return. The family members suspect murder by miscreants. His bike was also recovered near his body. Prima facie, it appears that he was beaten to death. “We are investigating the case and will soon arrest the accused,” the SH said.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old woman’s body was found near the Dimhia bridge under Araria’s Sikti police station area in Araria district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Roshni Kumari, a resident of Phulsara Jhabraganch village under Palasi police station area.
The family alleged that Roshni had an affair with a villager and was killed by him. Sadar SDPO, Ram Pukar Singh said, “He had been missing since Wednesday evening. She had gone out to her maternal grandmother’s home in Kaliaganj village, but never reached there.”
