BMC cracks down on 5 illegal bldgs | Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: The BMC cracked down on five unauthorised multi-storey buildings in Versova, which came up in an ecologically sensitive marshland area and within the Coastal Regulation Zone(CRZ).The civic body said that despite repeated notices from the municipal administration instructing the concerned parties to remove the constructions, no action was taken by them.“Given the potential threat to life due to the presence of these structures in a marshy zone, the BMC carried out the demolition,” said a civic official.The unauthorised buildings identified included Kutur House located in Tere Galli, Saishraddha Nivas situated opposite the Versova Pump House, Naga House in Goma Galli, Zhemne House in Mandvi Galli, and Ganesh Sagar in Bazaar Galli. —Richa Pinto
