BJP’s ‘sahyog’ prog restarts, ministers to interact with workers from tomorrow

Patna: In his first order after taking charge of state BJP chief, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Tuesday directed resumption of the party’s ‘sahyog’ programme of the ministerial group from Thursday.
The ‘sahyog’ programme is being held after two years. It was discontinued after chief minister Nitish Kumar dumped the National Democratic Alliance govt and formed the Grand Alliance (GA) govt.
Under the programme, ministers from the BJP quota listen to the grievances and concerns of the party workers and sympathisers from state, district and block with a view to resolving them.The programme was first introduced in 2007 to align the ministerial group with the organisation, party sources said.
As part of the ‘sahyog’ programme, deputy CMs — Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha—will have interface with party sympathisers on Tuesdays and Fridays at their respective official residences on Strand Road, while others will conduct it at the party’s state headquarters.
Ministers, including Mangal Pandey, Kedar Gupta and Krishnananda Paswan, will interact with the party workers on Monday. Similarly, ministers Renu Devi, Nitish Mishra and Dilip Kumar Jaiswal will be available on Wednesday.
Other ministers, including Nitin Nabin, Santosh Singh and Surendra Mehta, will meet the workers and sympathisers on Thursday, while Prem Kumar, Neeraj Kumar Babloo, Janak Ram and Hari Sahani will sit at the party’s headquarters on Saturday.

The Bihar government, headed by CM Nitish Kumar, was pushing to secure a raised reservation limit of 65% struck down by the Patna high court. The JD(U)-BJP coalition moved the Supreme Court and urged the Centre to incorporate the change into the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. Political turmoil continued in the assembly over this and other issues.
