Patna: Police have brought back Ashu Kumar (19), son of BJP worker Rajesh Kumar Singh of Shahpur, who was reported to have been kidnapped last week, from Delhi on Friday. Police said Ashu staged the abduction to obtain money from his father to repay a loan.
Ashu had been missing since June 21 and accused two of his friends of holding him hostage. His location was traced through his social media activity to the Greater Noida area, police said.“Prima facie it appears that Ashu was addicted to online gaming and lottery. He had taken a loan of Rs 5 lakh from someone. He staged abduction to obtain money from his father to repay the loan,” Danapur ASP Diksha said. TNN
