BJP gears up to celebrate Vajpayee birth centenary | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The state BJP is gearing up to leverage the yearlong birth centenary celebration of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, set to begin on Dec 25, as a key event in the run up to the assembly elections next year. The celebration is expected to bring back memories of the BJP’s rise under the leadership of Vajpayee and former deputy Prime Minister L K Advani.
“Our central leadership has planned two nationwide activities. The first is the yearlong birth centenary celebration of former Vajpayee from Dec 25 this year. Then, on Dec 26, the state BJP would also observe the martyrdom of the two sons of the tenth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh, as Veer Bal Diwas, which was first declared by PM Narendra Modi in 2022,” Bihar BJP chief Dilip Kumar Jaiswal told reporters. He added that Vajpayee’s birthday would be celebrated as Good Governance Day.
Jaiswal added that the party’s state, district, block and booth-level units would be actively involved in both activities on Dec 25 and Dec 26. He said the party’s organisational structure had been expanded with the number of organisational districts increasing from 45 to 52, block units rising from 1,136 to around 1,00, and more than 77,000 electoral booths in the state.
“The inaugural birth centenary celebration of Vajpayee will be held on Dec 25, from the state down to the booth level units. Similarly, the functions to observe Veer Bal Diwas will be held at the state and district levels,” Jaiswal added.
