BJP flags off ‘Tiranga Yatra’ | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: State BJP chief Dilip Kumar Jaiswal and Union minister Satish Chandra Dubey on Tuesday flagged off the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ here, as part of national programme on the eve of the Independence Day.
The BJP had announced to undertake the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from August 11 to 13 to motivate people to hoist national flag atop their houses on August 15 to mark the mass celebration of the Independence Day in the country.The party has called it as ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
In Patna, the party’s members drove their two-wheelers from its state headquarters to the Shaheed Smarak located near the state legislature building.
“The yatra has been organised to disseminate the idea of nationalism among the people. The Tiranga symbolises Indian national identity,” BJP national secretary Rituraj Sinha told mediapersons.

Union minister J P Nadda launched the Rajkot Tiranga Yatra, accusing Congress of fake patriotism. Nadda emphasized the contributions of freedom fighters like Sardar Patel, Bhagat Singh, and Subhash Chandra Bose, urging Congress to acknowledge them. A large-scale Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan was implemented in Maharashtra from August 9 to 15, with tricolors hoisted on 2.5 crore houses and establishments. Various programs such as Tricolor Yatra and rallies were organized. Citizens had to purchase flags this year, priced at Rs 25, unlike the previous year when flags were provided for free.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah encouraged citizens to join the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by changing their social media profile pictures to the tricolour. Modi invited people to celebrate Independence Day by sharing selfies, while Shah emphasized spreading the message of independence across the nation. Both leaders posted about it on X.
