BJP: BJP and BJD Complaints to CEO for Violating Model Code of Conduct | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: BJP and BJD delegations moved the chief electoral officer (CEO) of Odisha on Saturday with complaints against each other of attempting to violate the model code of conduct (MCC) by resorting to unfair means.
While BJP alleged that BJD brass is involved in booth rigging and violence in Salepur, Bari and Dharmasala, which went into poll on Saturday, BJD also filed similar complaints accusing BJP members of allegedly distributing money in Chandabali and Soro to influence voters.
The BJD delegation led by its Rajya Sabha member Sulata Deo submitted a memorandum to the CEO accusing BJP state president and its MLA candidate for Chandabali, Manmohan Samal and BJP MLA candidate for Soro, Parshuram Dhada of their involvement in the violation.
The BJD said Samal’s supporters have distributed money to voters in Amar Nagar village under Chandabali assembly segment for electoral gain on Saturday. Similarly, they said Dhada’s supporters allegedly used foul language and physically assaulted BJD members in Soro.
