Bhubaneswar: A day after Raghubar Das returned to active politics, opposition BJD on Saturday accused Das of acting as an agent of the BJP during his tenure as Odisha governor. BJP defended Das and said he showed the BJD leadership how to engage with people.
BJD’s Balikuda-Erasama MLA, Sarada Prasanna Jena alleged, “Das scripted a dark chapter in Indian democracy. Holding such a prestigious post as governor of Odisha, he toured across the state just ahead of the general elections to ensure victory for BJP in the state.”
Countering the allegations, BJP’s Aska MLA Saroj Kumar Padhi said that Das reached out to the people during his tenure as the governor in a way that none of the BJD leadership has ever achieved during its 24 years in power.TNN
