BJD: BJD forms 15-member panel to coordinate party activities | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: BJD on Monday announced the formation of a 15-member committee to coordinate party activities across the state. It’s the first such big organizational exercise after BJD lost the recent Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Trying to regain its political footing and position itself as a formidable force in the political landscape, BJD president Naveen Patnaik formed the committee under the chairmanship of former minister Debi Prasad Mishra.
This decision comes in response to internal demands for a more inclusive approach to the party’s functioning and a thorough analysis of factors that led to its recent electoral setback.
BJD chief whip Pramila Mallik, senior leaders Niranjan Pujari, Bikram Keshari Arukha, Pratap Keshari Deb, Pradip Amat, Arun Sahoo, Aswini Patra, Pratap Jena, Sarada Prasad Nayak, Sudam Marndi, Manohar Randhari, Snehangini Chhuria and Mahesh Sahoo are other members of the committee.
Senior BJD leader Amar Prasad Satapathy, who had called for a thorough review of the situation leading to party’s recent poll loss, is not part of the committee. Similarly, party’s organizational secretary Pranab Prakash Das is also not part of the panel.
BJD insiders said the regional party will intensify political activities across the state. The Debi Prasad Mishra panel will devise strategies for taking up relevant political issues to connect with the people.
