Bird Flu Crisis Hits Telangana: Outbreak in Siddipet District |

HYDERABAD: An outbreak of bird flu was reported in Siddipet district in Telangana. Officials confirmed that bird flu was detected in a poultry farm at Kangal village in Thoguta mandal in the district.
Sangareddy district Additional Collector Garima Agrawal said this was the first instance of bird flu in the district, and measures were being put in place to prevent it from spreading and affecting people.
The poultry farm was directed to cull all the poultry as per scientific methods and bury them. Officials were asked to ensure that everyone working at the farm undergoes a health check-up.
Everyone within a one-kilometre range of the poultry farm was asked not to consume chicken or eggs. Officials were directed to ensure there was no sale of chicken or eggs in the area. The assistance of police was sought to prevent any visits to and from the particular place.
