Bima Bharti’s husband surrenders in court

Patna: Former MLA Bima Bharti’s husband, Awadhesh Mandal, surrendered in the Purnia civil court on Monday in the high-profile Gopal Yaduka murder case in the district. The court has sent him to 14-day judicial custody. However, their son, Raja, also an accused in the case, is still absconding.
Mandal was named prime accused in the Yaduka murder case.He surrendered in the court and filed a bail petition, which was rejected by the CJM court. He will now appeal in the session court. The 55-year-old hardware businessman, Yaduka, was shot dead by two masked men on June 2, 2024. The case led to the arrest of four men, including the alleged shooter, and the issuance of warrants against Mandal and Raja.

The Delhi High Court ruled that the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar was necessary and lawful. Kumar was arrested for allegedly assaulting AAP MP Swati Maliwal at Kejriwals residence. The court highlighted evidence suppression and noted that Kumar was non-cooperative during interrogation. His bail applications were previously denied by both trial and high courts.
