Kendrapada: A biker was crushed to death by a truck at Sathipur Chhack under Panikoili police station limits in Jajpur district on Thursday. Two others who were riding pillion were injured in the accident as well.
Police have seized the truck, which was transporting sand, while the driver has fled the spot. “We are investigating the case,” the inspector in-charge of Panikoili police station, R K Mohanty, said.
The deceased was identified as Pramod Behera (40) of Sitaleswar village. Police seized the body and sent it to the govt hospital at Jajpur road for an autopsy.
The injured persons were identified as Gadadhar Behera (37) of Pritipur and Trilochan Behera (38) of Jajpur town. “Both were first admitted to the community health centre at Panikoili and later, they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition was serious,” Mohanty added.
