7 criminals held from Gaya, Saran & Gopalganj in 24 hrs

Patna: In a major crackdown on criminals, the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) with the help of local police arrested seven hardcore criminals, including a wanted arms smuggler, from Gaya, Saran, and Gopalganj districts in the last 24 hours. The STF also seized automatic pistols, country-made guns, rifles, 256 live cartridges, and equipment used for manufacturing arms from their possession.
According to a press release issued by the STF, a notorious criminal, Sanjay Singh alias Bunty Singh of Gopalganj district, was arrested from Jamui on Friday. He had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head. A total of 15 cases of murder, robbery, kidnapping, dacoity, and Arms Act violations are registered against him at different police stations in Gopalganj district. He had also escaped from the police custody once.
“Additionally, Md Khalid, Sujit Kumar Mishra, and Bahadur Bahelia were arrested from the Mufassil police station area of Saran district on Saturday. From these three criminals, two country-made pistols (katta), two pistols, 12 live cartridges, magazines, three cellphones, and an iron rod were recovered. All are notorious criminals and members of the Munna Mian gang, which is active in Siwan and Saran,” said the release.
Moreover, a mini gun factory was busted in Gaya on Friday. The STF arrested arms traffickers Md Arman, Md Golden, and Vipin Kumar Sharma from the illegal setup. A cache of weapons, including automatic pistols, country-made pistols, country-made guns, 256 live cartridges, and materials for making weapons, was recovered from the place. After interrogation, all the criminals were sent to jail on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours, leading to Yadav’s death. His accomplice escaped, and a search is ongoing. Weapons were recovered from the scene.
