Constable exam: 14 arrested with fake OMR sheets, docus

Patna/Buxar/Chhapra: Altogether 14 persons, including seven from Khagaria, two each from Jamui and Buxar, and three from Saran districts were arrested with fake optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets on the first day of Bihar Police constable recruitment exam that commenced on Wednesday.
Earlier, on Tuesday night, a fake paper solver gang was busted in Khagaria, leading to the arrest of seven persons, including the mastermind.The gang was allegedly providing fake OMR sheets and their answers to the candidates, according to officials.
The exam, for recruitment of police constables, is being held across 545 centres in 38 districts of the state from August 7 to 28. Approximately 18 lakh candidates are expected to take the exam to fill 21,391 vacancies.
The mastermind in Khagaria, identified as Diwakar Kumar, had reportedly charged over Rs 60,000 from each candidate for providing the fake OMR sheets and their answers. All the candidates were found inside a marriage hall, where the solver gang was operating. However, they were verified and allowed to appear for the exam. The police are currently investigating the matter, according to officials.
A total of 71 question papers, 86 OMR sheets, 42 cellphones, five Aadhaar cards and seven documents were seized from them.
