Fake certificates: 12 more junior engineer candidates handed over to police

Patna: Twelve more candidates, who had applied for the post of junior engineer in the state govt, were on Saturday handed over to the police on charges of producing fake certificates during the verification of documents by the Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC).
With this, the total number of candidates submitting fake certificates before the commission rose to 21. Earlier on Friday, the commission handed over nine such candidates to the Secretariat police station and asked the police to lodge FIRs and take necessary legal action against the aspirants for the post of junior engineer.
“A large number of candidates had applied for the post of junior engineers in different departments of the state govt. The commission called eligible candidates for document verification on November 29 and 30. On the first day, nine candidates were handed over to the Secretariat police station after their educational certificates, during the verification, were found to be ‘fake or fabricated,” the commission chairperson and senior IAS officer N Saravana Kumar told TOI on Saturday.
“Twelve more candidates with fake educational certificates were found on Saturday. They were handed over to the Secretariat police station,” he said.
Saravana also informed that the Secretariat police registered two separate FIRs against nine and 12 candidates, respectively.
