Bihar Legislative Council Chairperson Appreciates State Government’s Growth Initiatives | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The five-day monsoon session of Bihar legislative council started on Monday. On the first day, cabinet minister Ashok Choudhary tabled the first supplementary budget.
In his opening address, chairperson Awadhesh Narain Singh appreciated the work done by the state govt led by CM Nitish Kumar, particularly in the field of infrastructure development and employment.
Singh said under the leadership of CM Nitish, Bihar is witnessing new development trajectory. He mentioned the expansion of JP Ganga Path from Gai Ghat to Kangan Ghat, which could be used in reaching Patna Sahib Gurudwara. He said very soon this route will be further expanded up to Deedarganj. “Work of Patna Metro Rail Project is also going on at a fast pace. The govt is also determined to implement metro project in other cities too,” said Singh, adding that the resolves of Saat Nischay Part-2 to provide 10 lakh govt jobs and 10 lakh employment opportunities are taking shape now and 5.16 lakh jobs have been given till now.
Singh said the govt was keenly observing the flood-like situation as well as soil erosion and the CM was himself surveying the affected areas.
He further said the increase in the number of deaths due to lighting was worrying and there was a need to prepare a proper plan after roping in experts from various fields. He congratulated men and women cricket teams of India for their wonderful performances recently.
He also extended his wishes to the team participating in Paris Olympic 2024 and congratulated Shreyasi Singh on being selected in shooting.
He expressed his hope that all the members would cooperate in functioning of the House. Singh also congratulated 12 newly appointed members of the House, including CM Nitish Kumar and former CM Rabri Devi.
Later, all the members paid condolences to the ten leaders, including former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, who were either the members of state assembly or council.
