Sasaram: Labour resources minister Santosh Kumar Singh, has sent a legal notice to RJD MP from Buxar, Sudhakar Singh, demanding an explanation as to why a defamation suit worth Rs100 crore should not be filed against him.
The notice follows allegations made by Sudhakar, who called his family as sand mafia and claimed that a CBI and ED inquiry into the embezzlement of Rs550 crore in sand was going on against Santosh and his family. The notice demands that Sudhakar provide evidence for his claims within 48 hours.
Santosh, a BJP representative, while addressing the mediapersons at Mohania in Kaimur district on Monday, refuted the allegations made against him. He clarified that there were no pending embezzlement case against him in any court, nor there was any pending investigation by the ED and CBI.
Singh issued the legal notice after Sudhakar made remarks in his election meetings for Ramgarh byelection seat.
The legal notice highlighted that the allegations had harmed the reputations of Santosh and his two brothers, Alok Singh and Amit Singh.
The minister in the press conference alleged that Sudhakar and his brothers were themselves involved in embezzling state govt funds.
