Bihar Government Hosts Ambassadors’ Meet in Delhi to Attract Global Investment | – Times of India

Patna: The Bihar govt will host a meeting of ambassadors from different countries in New Delhi on Monday to showcase its investor-friendly policies and ease of doing business to attract investment in the state in various sectors.
“The Bihar govt is all set to host its highly anticipated ‘Bihar Business Connect 2024 – Ambassadors’ Meet’ on December 9 in New Delhi. The event will be inaugurated by Samrat Chaudhary, deputy chief minister-cum-finance minister,” the state’s industries department said here on Sunday.
Other key attendees will include Nitish Mishra, minister of industries and tourism, Amrit Lal Meena, chief secretary, Bandana Preyashi, secretary of the industries department, as well as secretaries from other key departments, including information technology, labour resources, and energy. “These officials will present various department-specific initiatives and policies aimed at promoting ease of doing business in Bihar,” an industries department official told TOI.
“Embassies from several countries have been invited to attend and ambassadors and senior officials from nations such as the United States, Russia and Japan are expected to participate. Leading trade bodies, including the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, TPCI, FIEO, AEPC, US-India Business Council and UK-India Business Council will also have representatives at the event,” the official said.
“During the meet, the industries department will present a comprehensive overview of key initiatives, new policies and the investment-friendly environment that was developed in Bihar in recent years. Delegates will be informed about the state’s efforts to foster industrial development and investment opportunities,” the official said.
This event is part of ‘Bihar Business Connect 2024 – Global Investors’ Summit’, which will be held in Patna on December 19-20 this year, further strengthening the state’s position as an attractive destination for global business and investment.
The state’s industries department, in recent months, organised a series of events including roadshows in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ludhiana and Kanpur, to attract investors and promote the upcoming Global Investors’ Summit.
Speaking at another investors’ meeting in New Delhi last month, the state’s industries minister Nitish Mishra said the upcoming global business summit in Patna would be a huge success and attract more investment proposals than the approximately Rs 50,000 crore it received during the 2023 edition of the summit.
