Bihar bypolls: JD(U)'s Manorama Devi wins Belaganj seat

PATNA: Manorama Devi, a candidate from Janata Dal (United), won the Belaganj Assembly by-election. The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced her victory on Saturday.
Manorama won by a margin of 21,391 votes, defeating her opponent, Vishwanath Kumar Singh from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, Manorama Devi secured 73,334 votes, while her nearest rival Vishwanath Kumar Singh managed to bag 51,943 votes after the final round of counting.

Assembly Election Results

These by elections were held in four constituencies of Bihar Belaganj, Tarari, Ramgarh, and Imamganj. All four assembly seats became empty after the MLAs were elected to the Lok Sabha earlier this year.
In a separate development, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), an ally of the NDA, has already secured victory in the Imamganj seat.
