Patna: Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, has received accreditation for its testing and certification laboratory from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). This accreditation allows the university’s food development centre to test pesticide residue in fruits and vegetables.
BAU vice-chancellor D R Singh said an NABL-accredited laboratory will enhance Bihar’s export potential and improve the international reputation of its agricultural products.
“Bihar is the third-largest producer of vegetables and seventh-largest producer of fruits in the country. The NABL certification will help meet international quality standards, aligning with global market requirements,” Singh added.
