Bicycle: 2k cycles procured for 25k each: Min | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: Each bicycle procured under the public bicycle sharing system of Smart Cities Mission cost Rs 25,000 and Capital Region Urban Transport (Crut), the implementing agency, procured 2,000 such bicycles, housing and urban development minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra told the assembly on Tuesday.
On a query by MLA Amar Kumar Nayak on the status of bicycles, the minister stated that under Smart Cities Mission, IBI Consultancy India Pvt Ltd prepared a detailed project report for the public bicycle sharing system for the people living under BMC area.
As a part of the programme, Crut in Nov 2018 had floated an open tender and 2,000 bicycles were procured spending Rs 25,000 each, Mahapatra said.
These bicycles are stationed at strategic places for the use of public while some of them are being repaired, the minister further said.
