BEST bus hits 3 vehicles, 9 injured – Times of India
Mumbai: A BEST bus collided with three vehicles and injured nine people, including two pedestrians, in the Lalbaug area on Sunday night after the bus driver reportedly had a tiff with a drunken passenger.
A BEST official said that the passenger, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, engaged in a scuffle with the driver while bus route number 66 was headed towards Rani Laxmibai Chowk in Sion at 8.30pm.”The passenger, Datta Shinde, in a fit of rage, turned the steering wheel of the vehicle, and the driver lost control. The bus swerved and hit two four-wheelers and a two-wheeler and also dashed a couple of pedestrians,” a police official said, adding that the passenger has been taken into custody.
Among the injured are six with minor injuries and three with serious injuries (fractures), the police added.
