BENGALURU: A 54-year-old software engineer residing in Kathriguppe had a shock of his life when he returned from a wedding recently; miscreants had struck his multi-floor house and fled with valuables worth Rs 37.8 lakh. According to the complaint filed by Vishwanath SD, a resident of 4th Block, Kathriguppe in Banashankari IIIrd Stage, he and his wife went to Chikkamagaluru to attend a wedding at 12.45pm on May 21 and returned 11.15pm on May 22.They entered the house by opening the main door and found the doors of the room on the first floor open. The cupboard doors were also open. Miscreants broke the wardrobes, drawers, and locker. The items, including household articles and clothes, were scattered around. He went to the third floor of the building to find the terrace door ajar. They checked the CCTV footage and found that at 8.15pm on May 21, thieves entered the house from the third-floor terrace door, turned the CCTV camera direction to a corner, and searched for valuables.They stole Rs 24 lakh in cash, multiple gold earrings, gold necklaces, pearl necklaces, pearl beads, silver coins weighing 1.5kg, and silver necklaces. Police visited the house and collected evidence, including fingerprints.
