Bengaluru: The magistrate’s inquiry into the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede case has intensified, and the deputy commissioner may submit a report next week.Officials recorded statements of a few family members of those who died in the June 4 incident. The magistrate earlier recorded statements of injured persons.According to sources, notices were served on police officials who were suspended. The statement of the suspended Cubbon Park police inspector was also recorded. Sources said some senior officials didn’t turn up to give their statements. On June 13, Rajesh Menon, vice-president and head of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, appeared before the magistrate and gave his statement as per the notice issued to him.Menon, after coming out of the magistrate’s office, headed straight to his SUV to avoid the media who tried to get his reaction. A video of him scurrying for cover has gone viral. The statements of KSCA, RCB, and others have already been recorded. The stampede claimed the lives of 11 people and left around 70 injured.
