Bengaluru showcase the art of branding from a bygone era | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru unveils the tickets or tika that are often overlooked in the branding and advertising history. Curated by Nathaniel Gaskell and Shrey Maurya, Ticket Tika Chaap offers a compelling experience of the world of commercial labels and how they shaped consumerism during the colonial era. In the late 19th Century, Indian shopkeepers stocked clothes with eyecatching labels imported from Britain which were widely known as ‘textile ticket’, ‘tikaa’, ‘chaap’ or ‘trademarks’. This art exhibition features over 300 textile tickets that serve as historical artefacts.
