Bengaluru rains: Girl dies as tree crashes on her while riding pillion with dad | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: A three-year-old girl died after a tree fell on her while she was riding pillion on her father’s two-wheeler in Jeevanahalli, East Bengaluru, following the rain that lashed the city Saturday evening. Thirty trees were uprooted as strong winds accompanied the rain.
The victim has been identified as Raksha, a resident of Kammanahalli. She was the daughter of Shakti alias Sathya. Raksha was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors, after administering first aid, suggested she be transferred to another hospital as her condition was critical. She was then rushed to Bowring Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Shakti, along with Raksha, had come to his brother’s shop in Jeevanahalli, near Cox Town, in the evening. After spending some time there, he was on his way back home with his daughter when tragedy struck.
According to a senior police officer, a tree adjacent to Purva Park crashed on the victim around 8:30pm. She sustained severe injuries while her father escaped with minor scars.
