Bengaluru: Contents of a question paper from the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) exam held last month were leaked, a varsity flying squad member has alleged. Following this, a complaint has been filed with cybercrime police by Vishwanatha KN, chairman of SJM Law College and member of a flying squad.
According to the complaint, 10 questions from ‘Contract-1′ paper, held on Jan 23 across the state, matched the leaked question paper. In all, the ‘Contract-1′ paper contained 20 questions. “A member of my squad, Ravindra Rajput, shared some of the leaked questions through WhatsApp on my mobile. Upon checking, 10 questions (five long and five short) matched those shared by Rajput. This indicates that the question paper was leaked by miscreants through social media, and we seek legal action against the offenders,” the complaint reads.
KSLU registrar (evaluation) Ratna R Bharamgoudar said, “There is a Telegram group of students, where some unverified handles post handwritten questions claiming they are exam questions. There are also several posts that carry phone numbers with messages that they can be contacted for accessing question papers. A teacher and a non-teaching staff member from a private college in Bengaluru first approached us, saying their numbers are being circulated in one such post. The faculty said they are receiving incessant calls after their numbers were circulated in this Telegram group. We advised them to file a police complaint, which they have done.”
“After this incident, a squad member found a post on this Telegram group that had some handwritten questions, which matched the real question paper. But we’re unsure where this has come from or whether a leak indeed occurred. There are multiple such posts with various sets of questions circulating. That is why we have asked the squad member to register a police complaint. Police can verify whether there have been leaks. Only if they confirm a leak will we consider re-exams,” she said.
