Bengaluru: A 21-year-old BCA (Aviation) student ended her life by jumping from the fourth floor of her college building on Friday afternoon. The reason behind her action is yet to be ascertained.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmi Mitra, a student at Acharya Institute in Soladevanahalli. According to police, the incident happened around 1.45pm. The students who witnessed her jump immediately alerted the management. She was found lying on the ground in a pool of blood. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital where she was declared brought dead by doctors.
A senior officer said, “We didn’t find a death note in her possession. She is a native of Kerala. We have alerted her parents about the incident and are waiting for them to come and lodge a complaint. We will register the case based on their complaint and investigate accordingly. We have preserved her body in the mortuary. The hospital sent us a medico-legal case memo.”
