Patna: A high-level committee from the Central Water Commission’s river management and coordination directorate held a consultative meeting with Bihar’s water resources department (WRD) minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary and other stakeholders to discuss the potential of constructing a barrage dam in Nepal.
In a communique, the WRD minister said the meeting focused on flood control, mitigation of flood impacts, and river de-siltation.“The proposed barrage dam in Nepal would require the cooperation of Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and foreign minister S Jaishankar to engage the Nepalese govt,” he added.
