Bangladeshi with Indian passport held | India News – Times of India
A Bangladeshi with an Indian passport, Subramanium Mallik, 26, was arrested at Mumbai airport on Thursday before he could board a flight for Toronto on a student visa, reports V Narayan. Mallik had crossed into India in 2009 when he was 11 years old, and lived in West Bengal, where he acquired a BBA degree. In 2021, he illicitly procured an Indian passport and used it to obtain a Canadian student visa. Immigration officials became suspicious when they noticed that Mallik had made multiple trips to Bangladesh using an Indian passport and quizzed him, leading to a confession.
