Bandh: SC/ST communities call for Bharat Bandh against SC quota ruling |
Koraput: Members of SC&ST communities, under the joint banner of Akhil Bharat SC/ST Samanaya Samiti, have announced their support to the bharat bandh scheduled for Wednesday in protest against the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on reservation sub-quota.
The organisation said the protest would be peaceful, with essential services such as healthcare, fire services and public water supply excluded from the bandh’s purview.
Bandh will be observed across the district from 6 am to 6 pm. “We urge the public to cooperate by closing educational institutions, business establishments, and keeping public transport off the road during this period,” said Rupak Turuk, the outfit’s adviser. TNN
