Bad Weather Grounds Cm Flight To M’bhanj | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Majhi had to skip his scheduled visit to Mayurbhanj on Sunday as the helicopter in which he was to travel failed to take off from Keonjhar due to inclement weather, a state BJP spokesperson said.
Majhi, who was on a three-day tour to Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj to celebrate the completion of 100 days of the BJP govt in Odisha, was to attend a public meeting at Chhau Padia in Baripada on Sunday.
Sources said the helicopter was scheduled to take off from Raisuan airstrip in Keonjhar for an onward journey to Baripada, but due to bad weather, the chopper couldn’t take off. The CM returned to Bhubaneswar by road.
“The helicopter couldn’t take off due to the bad weather. The CM was about to address a gathering at Chhau Padia in Baripada, but it had to be cancelled. The CM returned to Bhubaneswar after the cancellation of the programme,” BJP spokesperson Thakur Ranjit Das said.
On Sunday, Majhi laid the foundation stones and inaugurated various developmental projects in Keonjhar worth Rs 900 crore.
“Our govt is striving to bring smiles to people’s hearts, not just their faces,” the CM said on the occasion.
Highlighting the development of Keonjhar, the CM said, “To eradicate poverty and malnutrition, our govt is implementing visionary programmes. The govt has undertaken various development projects in areas like transport, health, infrastructure, and railways.”
