Asst public prosecutor, constable in ACB trap | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested an assistant public prosecutor (APP) and a constable while they were accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in Kamareddy.The arrested were identified as Guguloth Ashok Shiva Naik, APP at the Junior Civil Judge Court in Kamareddy, and Nimma Sanjay, constable of Kamareddy Town Police Station.According to ACB officials, the duo was caught red-handed when Shiva Naik accepted the bribe through the constable inside his office chamber on the Kamareddy court premises. “The money was allegedly demanded to expedite the trial and secure an acquittal in a case filed against the complainant. A cheating case was registered against the complainant under section 420 of the IPC in 2018 at Kamareddy Town PS. Initially, the APP demanded Rs 15,000 but later reduced the amount to Rs 10,000,” said an ACB official. The bribe amount was seized. The duo was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act and will be produced before the ACB special court in Nampally for judicial remand on Saturday.
