other’s growth.”
‘I have always been interested in both film and fashion’
Filmmaker and designer Joy Bimal Roy, presented a fashion show on upcycled saris and sustainable fashion. He said, “I have always been interested in both film and fashion. I think they are connected. My father Bimal Roy was very stylish, he dressed in monochrome blacks, whites, greys and browns. The models fell into place, they are all my friends, some of whom have modelled for me before, and one complete stranger I had seen at the Saraswati Puja in Bandra and asked casually whether she would model for me. My two nieces walked too, so I just drew on my goodwill.”
